Communicating with eLinkMail
Our unique messaging system, known as eLinkMail, allows sponsors and their sponsored children to communicate via the Internet. This method of rapid communication enhances the sponsorship experience by significantly reducing response time from months to weeks, or even days, in some cases. The increased frequency in communication allows for a much more meaningful connection between sponsor and child.![]() |
The process of sending an eLinkMail is simple. After selecting your child, click on the "Send Mail" icon located in the navigation bar in the column to the right. |

Next, you'll select a template to format your letter. You can also preview your letter by selecting "Print Preview". When ready, hit the "Send" button. Your letter will be delivered instantly to the IGL support center in India. Need ideas for your letter? Take a look at our Child Conversation Starters. |

When the IGL support staff receives your letter, they'll translate it into your child's native language and hand-deliver it, along with your original letter and any attached pictures, to your child's school. Your child will receive his or her letter and will write a letter back to you as a part of his or her normal class curriculum. |

Once the child has finished his or her letter, the IGL translators will translate it into English, upload it to the eLinkMail system and send it to you, along with your child's original hand-written letter, and any pictures your child has drawn. You should receive your child's response in 1-4 weeks, except during summer and holiday breaks. |
