My Story
My name is Geetha. More than 15 years ago, my father brought me to the Sharon Home because he could no longer care for me and my siblings. My mother had died, and the burden of caring for us was too much.
I was only 5 then. I had never lived away from home and had never heard of Christianity, or Jesus Christ. But as I grew, the teachers and staff at the Sharon Home taught me, took care of me, and helped me understand the power and love of Jesus Christ.
I regularly attended the Children's Gospel Club and Sunday classes, and it was during that time I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. On April 15, 2006, at the age of 18, I was baptized. While I grew to walk with God, I also excelled in other areas of my life.
After completing my high school courses, I decided to go in for teacher training. I have now successfully finished my teacher training courses, and am working full time at the Sharon Home as a parent-teacher. Now I can return the blessings I received as a child.
I have made quite a journey. And I am glad God is using me as a channel of blessing and guidance for children whose lives started just like mine.
There are many other testimonies of children such as Geetha whose lives have been touched by the love and hope of faithful sponsors. They, in turn, are vessels of courage, love and strength for other young children growing up in IGL-sponsored homes.
